Hunger Games Fans Out There?

Any fans of The Hunger Games on my followers list? I'm trying to knit district themed scarves and was wondering if I should add them to my new Etsy once I make a few districts. Currently I'm working on my district, District 12.

Vintage Hunting in...My Grandma's Basement?

I've been visiting my grandma who lives in western New York and she encouraged me to through her basement to find some of her old clothes and my mom's clothes from the 60s and 70s for grins. Lo and behold, I found my mom's old bright yellow shorts from the 1960s (they don't fit though), several crop tops, and many of my grandma's old dresses, including her favorite sun dress from the 50s-60s.

Needless to say, it brought back mushy moments and several times where both Mom and Grandma were saying, "Oh yeah I remember that!" There was so much stuff I found that I'll need to ship it home in a big box. But Grandma says I've barely scratched the surface and there's more to discover.

Once I get the clothes shipped to my home on the west coast, I'll photograph and share pictures in addition to figuring out where I'd like to sell them.

Made in the USA Making a Comeback?

Word has it that Mr. President has been pushing to create more jobs in the consumer production market in order to regain our position as a strong business country who stamps their products with Made in the USA again. While I'm not a huge fan of his politics, I think the concept of getting back to our old times of producing items in our own country is a great idea. Not only does it provide people with jobs but it also it feels rather good to know that you own something that was made in your own country and not by a child laborer in China. (It does exist as one Apple fan found out when he visited)

Lately, I've been gravitating to American made products in clothing. Some brands that still make items in the USA include:
Joe's Jeans
Paige Denim
J-Brand
True Religion

Comic Con 2011 Day 4

Here we go - the final day!

Comic Con 2011 Day 3

Welcome to the craziest day aka Saturday. Day 2 of my Comic Con bag corset and hanging with my friend.

Comic Con 2011 Day 2

Here's Day 2 of Comic Con. Mostly I spent the day waiting in line for panels and ended up pretty disappointed because I didn't get into to see them. Aside from that, I saw some pretty interesting people.

Comic Con 2011 Day 1

Hey everyone! Apologies for the very late Comic Con post - my iPhoto program has been acting up lately and I've been forced to try to figure out another way to upload my photos to my blog to share. (Guess that means I'll get to pay Apple a visit soon...)
